It's common knowledge that India has the largest film industry in the world. In fact, India accounts for more than 73% of movie admissions in the entire Asia-Pacific region.

iFilm Connections: Asia & Pacific has a vision about expanding the site to cover South Asia cinema, and we're talking to leading scholars and journalists to make this coverage a reality.

By end of May, we will start with a tribute to Sri Lanka filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage, including streaming four of his award winning feature films. One of them, Death on a Full Moon Day, was initially banned by the Sri Lanka government, but later became the most successful film in the history of Sri Lankan cinema.
